First Day

The First Day of the year was a mix of good & bad but let me just concentrate on the good things for now ( or for this entire year, for that matter). Few things that weren't a serendipity at all, things that I always knew all along, resounded in my mind, just that the sound this time was more clear, lasting & soothing.

The very first day saw me feeling indebted to the most important people in my life, my parents, for their unconditional love & support to me, no matter what.

I feel extremely thankful to Almighty for being a child to a mother who is to me, an epitome of perfection. She is love, care, kindness & all such adjectives that I or you can possibly think of, personified. She is a vast ocean of wisdom & so blessed am I that being her daughter, that wisdom that she possesses & has accrued over her life, is being passed on to me, little by little every day, which otherwise may take several lifetimes to learn. We might have our share of differences but I have seen very closely how she can manage to sometimes go beyond the debate of wrong and right or what she may disapprove of, just to get a smile on her daughter's face and ameliorate any pain. She's a true sweetheart, my soul mate for life!! I am yet to come across a more pious & forgiving soul than her & I am saying this not because she's my mother; it's an unbiased view of her. Those who have her in their life can't get more fortunate.

Now comes my Dad's turn. There are qualities in him that I can't be more thankful to God for. He's one person who'd stand by his child in times of need & provide his support when you need him most with no questions asked. When his child gets stuck in a problem, he appears from nowhere like a genie & tries to put everything right for her. He has the knack of pacifying tough situations & people with his words. We daily fight over making him diet & less lazy but he's a true darling!! :)

The day also helped me see how being surrounded by positive people can really pep you up in times of sadness & how some things never change over the years. There are some friends who you'd meet after years together & still feel the same warmth. Just like it always was, you loose count of time when you begin unfolding your thoughts to them. What a pleasure to go through that child like excitement again!!

The first 24 hours of a brand new year came to a close with my mom's mobile phone getting stolen. Now, we as a family could have got disheartened to such a beginning but No!! We laughed it off by saying that everyone in the family had asked mom to give up the hand set several times & she hadn't; so God took it away :)

So the day ended & another year began, full of uncertainty, hope & faith.

Time to seek blessings for my Dearest Parents & the best of health, wealth & happiness... God, are you listening? Please do & I want nothing more.

Humbly forever,
Meow
